Background: I had a row of fencing between myself and a council property, that I had erected with a friend when I worked in the fire service. There had originally been a hedge on the side of the council property but once the fence was erected this was removed. The company I had bought the original fencing from had ceased trading and when the material of the fencing failed after a storm, I couldn't replace it with like for like. I therefore researched the fencing I wanted to replace the original meticulously, as I knew the failure points and needed it to be robust. Jackson's have a good reputation and though expensive I was told the fencing was built to last. I agree with that sentiment.
However, Jackson's demand that you use their installers in order to honour the 25 year guarantee. I had three different people come to look at the project. I discussed with all three what I envisaged being erected via email, as well as during a site visit. The first person who visited would not do the work if I was in the garden working at the same time (and also got the calculations of the number of panels required, wrong). The second was just rude. At this point I was getting a little desperate. I knew two individuals who could put in the fencing but who weren't Jackson approved and therefore couldn't do the work. Thus, when the final team came to assess the work I agreed, partially because this team could also work on another area of the garden at the same time.
I took a week off work and expected the work to take a week. They were on my property for 2.5 days. There were multiple issues throughout. The delivery was delayed so they couldn't start work in the morning of the first day. One seemed more interested in his phone than clearing around the old fencing where three posts and three panels were still in place (they therefore were very well aware of the line of the original fence). The fencing wasn't level with a bow in the middle, which one of them seemed determined he could hammer out (!) and they cut through the root of an ancient apple tree without asking.
When the work was subsequently inspected it was obvious that it had become a rushed job - there was brickwork on one side of the garden that was shabbily finished and when I tried to put the path back down that ran alongside the fence it became obvious that a large tranche of my garden had been 'cut off' - I could no longer fit a step that had been cut to size. as it hung over the border of the path by 20cms. In all I have lost 1.5 sq meters of my garden and when the contractor did come back to fix the wall, he was shown that the fence was skew. His response was "well it's too late now".

I have spent a huge amount of money. I still don't have a path laid because of the step, and every time I go out to my vegetable patch I am starkly reminded that the fence is no longer parallel with the veg beds, and is instead now skew. To add insult to injury I have been defamed online.
It has been an unnecessarily upsetting experience, because I was told I had to use their approved installers.

Absolutely excellent quality framed T&G effect fence panels for a client. They are VERY heavy (read: Sturdy), arrived with no damage and all edges were straight-edge straight. We will be recommending these panels to other clients for a fit-and-forget timber fencing solution.

The delivery service was excellent. Panels and posts neatly and securely packed onto a large pallet. The quality of the materials used is outstanding, and I would definitely use Jackson’s fencing for any future requirements. I had 6ft x 6ft tongue and groove panels and, although I managed to move and install many of them on my own they are really heavy and solid and ideally need two people to install them. I’m very pleased with the end result and so glad that I didn’t go for one of the cheaper alternative makes of fence panel. A little bit more expensive but worth every penny.

Ordered my fence and they delivered it early than expected. Even on the day of delivery when the expected time was given I was not in and asked to delay it for an hour and they obliged. Absolutely fabulously service. Hence the five stars
